German Shepherd Dog
A sound temperament is critical. The mentally stable adult German Shepherd should be confident, self-assured, and naturally protective when the situation warrants it. Shyness, timidity, fearfulness and over-protectiveness are signs of poor, and possibly dangerous, temperament. It is critical to intensely socialize GSD puppies beginning at 7 weeks of age in order to create a stable, discerning adult.
